Petaluma Loge # 26

Petaluma, CA

On Sunday, November 27 we opened our doors from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Petaluma Herman Sons Hall to celebrate our annual Christkindlemarkt. This year we again had a wide variety of products from needlecrafts and woodworking to imported candies and chocolates and delicious home baked goods. There was a table offering local honey and another with candles made from bees wax. You could buy handmade children's clothing or knitted hats and scarves. There was even a bakery offering fresh baked German breads and cookies.

Santa was there if you wanted your picture taken and the organ grinders music box played holiday tunes. The atmosphere and decor was definitely festive.

A delicious lunch was offered in the small hall and you could cozy up to the bar and get a glass of Gretel's famous Glühwein or German beer if you prefer.

People came from far and wide. We were even visited by a member of the German Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Mr. Able and his wife.

A good time was had by all and we hope to see all of you next year. It's a good way to start your holidays and pick up a lot of goodies too.
